Utilizing a simple blood test (RAST) as the primary testing modality, patients of all ages are spared painful and dangerous skin testing. All immunotherapy (allergy shots) sera is all carefully prepared on site and administrated under a doctor’s supervision within the institute by highly trained allergy-certified nurses within the Allergy Department. This allows each patient to be treated with a custom formulation for their exact allergy needs.

We were the first in Oklahoma to offer RUSH immunotherapy induction speeding relief of allergy shots to our patients. All these aspects of our complete allergy treatment, allows our patients to expect individualized, safe, advanced treatment that will give them the most complete and fast relief possible for their allergy symptoms. Because allergies are so often a “hidden” part of many other ENT disease processes such as sinus infections, recurrent ear problems, and chronic nasal drainage, aggressive allergy treatment often allows us to succeed in treatment where other doctors may have failed.

These are available at on-line prices without leaving the building. This allows patients to create a clean and safe environment to improve their allergy treatment. In many cases, one of the keys to the most complete relief of allergy symptoms is environmental control. The Allergy Store of Lawton is the only store specializing in only allergy products in the state of Oklahoma. More advanced environmental evaluation and remediation of the home and other buildings, especially those contaminated with mold, using natural and herbal products is available in consultation with Oklahoma Natural Environmental Services, a company that Dr. Smith helped found in Lawton in 2006.

Asthma is a condition often associated with poorly controlled allergies and sinusitis. Someone once said that, “if you can’t breathe, not much else matters”. That is certainly true and at the Institute we understand this relationship and aggressively search for evidence of asthma in our allergy and sinusitis patients. Complete pulmonary function studies and bronchodiliatory (inhaled medications that open the lungs) therapy is available right in the Institute. Although most asthma patients may have been told that their only treatment is the use of asthma medications such as inhalers and steroids, we have more to offer.

Our evaluation and treatment of asthma begins with a complete evaluation of the patient’s allergies, sinuses, and environment. Our experience has shown that many asthmatics can be completely removed from their asthma medications by completely treating their allergies, clearing the sinuses of disease, and maintaining a clean indoor environment.
